As a fresh Architectural graduate Vijay worked on the institutional and commercial projects in California as an in-house architect / operational manager for ‘GKK corp.’ Recognising the need of global exposure in urban scale projects back in 2003 he started working with legendary planner Mr Philip Cox on various master planning and township projects in Middle East and China.
Later 2007 brought him back to India as managerial professional who aspired to be part of rapidly urbanising Indian growth storey. He worked with Singapore based Surbana International until 2011 as Project Director of development as well as consultancy arm.
At Surbana Vijay was leading multidisciplinary teams on a variety of Planning and Architectural projects pan India. As a key management member within South Asia division and Project Director on a number of important projects like Mumbai Metropolitan Region Master Plan 2032, SD Corp Urban Renewal project, Zinc Business Hotels, SP integrated Master Plan, Hill County Township, Raheja Vistas, HDIL IT Park etc Vijay developed his Leadership skills to greater extend including Program Management and Business Development.
This confluence of soft-skills and techno-skills allowed him to provide valuable specialist input to all projects for which he was involved. Extensive Global experience with renowned international practices, mainly in Asia and South Pacific region offered him a unique mix of international design flair, project and financial management; along with well grounded knowledge of Local Indian socio-economic issues in Real Estate business.
At KPDL Vijay started as the Project Director for Life Republic (LR) where he founded and grew Townships vertical from ground up. Managed all aspects of business including budgeting, business development, capital generation and cash flows. Planned, designed and constructed 3.0 million sft in 36 months of first phase at LR.
Presented a white paper on the reward for ‘successfully project managing mega-projects’ by best international PMI practices. Recently within a short span of one year successfully established independent & process driven teams for three townships ranging from 180 acres to 500 acres. He is currently spearheading the growth portfolio of Townships from 5,000 Cr to 15,000 Cr inventory to be booked in next 5-7 years.
