Project Brief : Waste to Energy (WtE) is a process of generating energy in the form of electricity and/or heat from the primary treatment of waste.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has identified site for the development of Municipal Solid Waste (Mixed) to Energy Facility WtE) in compliance with various provisions stipulated in the SWM Rules, 2016.
The proposed Waste To Energy Plant, is located at Ramtekdi, Pune within the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation. The project is envisioned in two phases.
The overall masterplan is designed keeping in mind the phase-wise development of the plant. The campus is developed on the lines of Sustainability. A green buffer is proposed along the periphery of the site that emphasizes the sustainability aspect of the project. Two separate entries, one each for Material & Office staff has been proposed. A complete loop for vehicle movement is proposed for an efficient movement within the campus. All major areas that would be handling the waste are maintained at negative pressure, as an odour control measure.
